Hello all!

Please help us to fill our Board of Directors positions by nominating outstanding nurses to serve in the local Kappa Kappa chapter.  Current officer terms end in June of 2025, so we will hold elections for the new cycle! Send your nominations or questions to Dr. Stacey Knight @ stacey.knight@lamar.edu by April 18th. All current members of Kappa Kappa are eligible to run for a Board of Directors position. Ballots will be distributed shortly thereafter for the May elections.  Positions are for a two-year term, and definitions of positions are listed below.  Open positions are:

• Counselor - 1 open seat (must be Lamar faculty)

Congratulations, senior BSN nursing student Daisy Calero Estrella, on receiving The Linda Richards Academic Excellence Award at the Lamar Gay Dishman School of Nursing Annual Nursing Awards Banquet! The Kappa Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International president, Dr. Sommer Shackelford, and School of Nursing Director, Dr. Joseph Tacy, presented the award to Daisy this past Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The Sigma Theta Tau chapter also awarded Daisy with a monetary gift of $500. Our chapter is so proud of Daisy and is so excited to have had the opportunity to participate in the annual awrds banquet.
